This glossary is produced in order to further explore terms related to supply and demand.
brands
A type of product manufactured by a particular company under a particular name.
Example: Learning that culture has a significant influence on business strategy, BRANDS, and marketing activities is to me, stimulating.

A business is defined as an organization or enterprising entity engaged in commercial, industrial, or professional activities.
Example: SWOT stands for the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats of a BUSINESS and it is a valuable method of identifying the key areas of BUSINESS that need to be improved.

Customer
A person who buys goods or services from a shop or business.
Example: This means that additional labour is required for tasks such as when the Christmas shop opens, for loading Christmas trees into CUSTOMER's cars and for the felling of the trees.

Carry out an idea, a project, etc., that takes a certain amount of time.
Example: There would also need to be thorough research into the effects and organisms of the different strains of the disease in order to DEVELOP an appropriate vaccine.

The action of sharing something out among a number of recipients.

Costing a great deal; expensive.
Example: Foreign investors, especially those from advanced economies, are quite willing to pay the HIGH PRICE for the highly trained and appropriately skilled workforce, as long as the perceived return can make adequate compensation for that cost.

Extremely comfortable or elegant, especially when involving great expense.

Each of the parts into which something is or may be divided.
Example: Figure 4 shows 4 brands are in growth SEGMENTs but range from strong to weak positions. SULI sits favourably in an ageing SEGMENT.

Sell
Give or hand over (something) in exchange for money.
Example: This could be due to less internet access and the difference in markets in which urban and rural businesses operate, many urban businesses SELL direct to consumers and therefore a website is beneficial in marketing, fewer rural businesses operate in this way.

Give or hand over (something) in exchange for money.
Example: We have to collect information on the amount of different types of food SOLD at different prices (e.g. before and after sale) before we calculate the elasticity.

Strategy
A plan of action designed to achieve a long-term or overall aim.
Example: According to Thompson and Strickland (2003), the term strategic management refers to the managerial process of forming a strategic vision, setting objectives, crafting a STRATEGY, implementing and executing the STRATEGY, and then over time initiating whatever corrective adjustments in the vision, objectives, STRATEGY, and execution are deemed appropriate.
